I am a PhD in Mathematics based in Florence, Italy.
Since late 2016 I am teaching Mathematics and Physics in Florence (high school level).
Before that, I have been a postdoc at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in Paris and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn.
I received my PhD in June 2015 from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", where my advisor was Domenico Fiorenza. In 2011, I was a research student at Macquarie Unversity with Michael Batanin, and before that I was a Master student at the Universities of Leiden and Padova, where I graduated under the supervision of Ieke Moerdijk.
My latest research moved in the area of Extended Topological Quantum Field Theories. More in general, I am interested in the interaction and interplay between algebra and homotopy theory within the context of higher category theory, with a focus on weak algebraic structures via both simplicial and dendroidal methods.
I'm also interested in the history and evolution of Mathematics and in the interactions between Mathematics, Art, Music and Literature (mostly contemporary and avant-garde on the side of Music, while OuLiPo and surrounding areas on the Literature side).
As a side project (time permitting) I'm working on the antifascist emigration during the 1920's and 1930's (mainly from the Genoa and Milan area).
